Drawing Lesson No. 1

We thought it would be fun to share a few of Mr. Swift’s drawing tips now and again.

Here is our very first official ELVIS SWIFT Dry Goods & Supply Drawing Lesson.

In this example, we have two topics to cover:

  1. Draw the same thing multiple times. After a few attempts, you’ll probably get it right or decide it was a dumb idea and scrap it.
  2. Ink your subject in parts and pieces. When all the elements are rendered, cut them out and assemble in a preferred arrangement. Doing this will allow for modifying your subject a multitude of ways without erasing (you know how we feel about erasing) or redrawing (redrawing is okay but see tip 1 above).

If you try this strategy for drawing things, our hope is at the very least you’ll find it interesting if not helpful.
